Indigo-Belcom specialises in the design, planning, build, supply, management and maintenance of UK, European and global telecommunications networks. We offer a comprehensive range of installation, professional and technical services to assist telecommunications operators, carriers, network equipment manufacturers, utilities and private enterprises in deploying, managing and maintaining their multi-vendor telecommunications infrastructure.
Our business began as Hutchison Communications Systems in 1997, this business merged with Team Telecom Ltd in 2005 to form Hutchison Team Telecom. Hutchison Team Telecom then acquired Redbridge Management Services in 2007. Network infrastructure and telecommunication expertise from all businesses were brought together and in 2009 Indigo Telecom was born.
As an offshoot of Yorkshire Electricity, Team Telecom Ltd had a long and impressive history in the installation, commissioning and maintenance of networks in the wireless and mobile markets. It provided services into the Utilities sector both in mainland UK and offshore, in addition to the emergency services.
Hutchison Communication Systems was established in 1997 to service the needs of the rapidly growing telecom network industries. Initially, the company specialised in the supply of personnel to the Cable Television and Fibre Optic industries, however, the range of services soon increased to cover cable installation, structured cabling, Data/IP, PDH/SDH and DWDM testing. In September 2005, Hutchison Communication Systems Ltd was acquired by Team Telecom, the telecoms division of Spice Plc.
In November 2007, Redbridge was added to the Team Telecom Group to further strengthen the Global Support Centre (GSC) and first line maintenance (FLM) services in the UK. Redbridge’s heritage was in large scale carrier/service provider deployments and FLM; designing, implementing and maintaining some of the largest call centre based telephone systems in the UK.
In 2016 a management buy out of the Indigo Telecom Group was completed and with new financial backing from Maven Capital Partners and YFM Private Equity the Company is now embarking on the latest chapter of its growth strategy expanding its portfolio of services into new sectors, markets and geographies.
On the 29th September 2017, Indigo Telecom completed the acquisition of belcom247 a specialist provider of field engineering and datacentre connectivity solutions worldwide. Belcom247 provides mission critical network installation and maintenance services to many major datacentres across Europe and Asia which enables Indigo to expand its geographical coverage and expands its portfolio of managed services. Following the acquisition, the Indigo Board took the decision to rebrand the company to Indigo-Belcom.
In May 2018 our new Global Support Centre at our HQ in Magor South Wales was opened by The Secretary of State for Wales Rt Hon Alun Cairns MP, further cementing our position in the Welsh economy.
In November 2018 Indigo announces the completion of a strategic investment by Growth Capital Partners (GCP) in order to accelerate growth and M&A activity.
